The new metro system in Doha, the capital of the State of Qatar, represents one of the most prestigious infrastructure projects in the Middle East. The opening of all lines in 2020 completely transformed the public transportation system in the capital and its suburbs. Access to key locations was also greatly improved during the FIFA World Cup, which Qatar hosted in 2022. Our company was selected as the main supplier of the air-conditioning system for the metro—an essential component in a climate where daytime temperatures in summer regularly reach an average of 46°C.
It was precisely in such extreme conditions that our team commissioned 133 outdoor air handling units with automation, installed on the roof of the Qatar Rail administrative building, while the commissioning of 80 indoor units in the metro’s service and logistics center was completed earlier, in early 2022.

The metro system consists of three lines, 37 stations, and 111 kilometers of tunnels served by 75 trains. In addition to the air-conditioning units, we also supplied the ventilation duct system with diffusers and grilles, with the total value of the delivered equipment amounting to several million euros.

Securing the project was made possible thanks to a long-term partnership and continuous technical support provided to the design company from the early planning stages, including a demanding FAT (Factory Acceptance Test).
As a prerequisite for the order, a full-scale performance test was conducted at our R&D center in Godovič, simulating real operating conditions—an ambient air temperature of 46°C with 30% relative humidity. The unit, equipped with an integrated heat pump, achieved a total cooling capacity of 100 kW at a nominal airflow rate of 12,500 m³/h. One of the greatest challenges during testing was maintaining a stable temperature regime for all the air handling unit’s connections.
According to the project manager, one of the key advantages of partnering with our company was our proactive technical support during both the design and installation phases. As he noted, we exceeded the usual level of service by providing comprehensive support and expert consulting throughout the project.
